 Azalea blooms

Azaleas are a great shrub to add to your garden. Not only do they make great flowers in early spring, they provide a good base for the rest of your yard or garden. The city of Mobile, Alabama has many great examples of what can be done with azalea in gardens.

Azaleas are flowering shrubs and are related to rhododendrons.

Azaleas are much larger than other rhododendrons. Many varieties extend limbs near the ground at some distance from the main plant. This makes them very easy to care for since the projected branches shade any weeds trying to creep in.

The lush foliage of azalea bushes are ideal for increasing privacy in summer.
