A sensory garden is a garden specifically created to be accessible and enjoyable to disabled visitors.

Its original meaning was a walled-in compound or garden; from pairi (around) and daeza or diz (wall, brick, or shape). The name has come to be commonly used in English and other European languages as an alternative for heaven. Because of the additional meanings for the word, the enclosed garden of the original concept is now often referred to as a paradise garden.

The Taj Mahal is an elaborate paradise garden. You can make a smaller version for your home. 

Not all gardens are out of doors.  Greenhouses were built soon after glass became widely available.  A significant percentage of all food and flowers is grown indoors in greenhouses.
